I still AM biting my nails about it! LOL. at any rate, I think that we have both agreed that we need to sneak up on that last inch...therefore, we will get it by a combination of sanding in the wood for the finish...and shooting her in.
I have never been as patient on any of my own bows as we have for this one...add 10 hours today of Chris' time...he is into this for 25 hours now. We need to be carefull, and truly, STALK that tiller.
probably another 8-10 hours I would think between carefully shooting her in...finessing the finish...and finishing her I would think?
I offered to give him the piece of beaver tail I got off of Ralph Renfro at Mojam last year if he wanted to use it for a grip...he said yes. (I wanted that tail for myself!!!) And I think it will be a good addition to the bow. I guess we will have to use real beaver balls too.
Oh yeah, before I forget...directly after unstringing it follows by a half inch. So we only gave up a half inch of set for the last 5 inches we took...I dunno...but I am pleased with that when I see how hard that wood is working???
I really cant believe that thing is holding together. Sinew must be magic or something.
