goto the "how-to" section of this site, and print off the instructions for a backquiver. bring em when you come. Leather is expensive dude, and something that I know nothing about. Mebbe your pal Newguy will enlighten you as to what kind of leather you need.

Gotta wait another week now...    :scared:

This is like waiting on Christmas... and is probably one of my favorite build alongs.

When I check my e-mail and I don't find any messages pertaining to this thread... I get all bummed... like I did the year dad loaded all us kids up the wagon and told us he was taking us to Disney World... and when he came to an old burned out building... he told us it must have burned down. We cried.

MPS...pardon the pun but I have some pig leather that I made a side stalker out of. It was to be for me but I made it too small so Ben's got it. Call me if C-bisket wants to make something like that.  :wavey:

Chris, I usually just lay on the finish in multiple coats sanding lightly between coats.

we want to make like a kingsnake sort of thingie. should we lay on bands of rit dye/alcohol, or would fiebreings leather black dye be better? The leather dye works just the berries on arras. Should we lay on the dye then proceed to finish (prolly high gloss varathane) or should we do a coat of varathane, then dye, then varathane?

perhaps we should all join hands and sing "kum-by-ya" mebbe whilts lighting candles oh my brothers. (and sisters...no not your herb)

:help:  little help here...I have a perfectly good 15 year old to keep amused.  :)

I used to think there was no such thing as a perfectly good 15 year old   :bigsmyl:  I'd do all the stain or dye work first then just slather it in Varathane.  "[laffsmyl]"

Slather: "to abundantly pour on in copious quantity" aka: Smoosh. "Shmoosh it on there real horrorshow" oldschool: "git it on der real good boy"

pass the lemonaid Daniel. I got a boy with some sandpaper in his hands.
