That's the ugliest thing I ever seen Dano.  I like it.  ;-)  Great job!

Dang, I went back and looked at all the other pages I figured out I missed the whole build.  Nice job dealing with that big knot.  I was afraid that one was gonna get you when I first swaw it.  Looks it's gonna hold.

David thank you, I just thought you were mad about that comment I made on your post about your new chronograph, you know the gram scale from your college daze, but I knew better.  :bigsmyl:

Dano,I'm slowly working on a minimally character laden osage.64" NTN 4" handle 2" fades.1 3/8" tapering down to 1/2" tips.I guess you would call it a pyramid style. No knots or pins to speak of,has some side to side wave and a little prop twist. One little whoopdy doo that is like a step down.Getting ready to put on the short string.

Way to pull it off Dano.  I just cut a lot of excess wood of mine with a band saw yesterday, and with a little luck, maybe she'll turn out half as good lookin as yours.

Thanks guy's, Linc, Clint we expect pitures. Check out this nice tree Dosbow56 spotted, there might be a bow there somewhere.     :bigsmyl:

Oh Dano look at that Barber pole in the bark onm that main trunk. Tree been subjected to a lot of wind twist. Maybe a branch has straight bark. Were it me, unless you LIKED making bows from wood like you just worked I'd find another tree.

Yep, I've seen that tree a hundert times.

Me mad Dano?  No way buddy.  It's cool.  What was odd was that the quote disappeared when I edited my post.  I'd be surprised if they write that stuff by reference by I guess so.

Dano,,,Great build-a-long! and at just the right time, I've got a bow started now that has a large knot like that in both limbs. Actually I laid it out that way. It's made from two billets that were split one from on top of the other. Same branch growing thru each billet, I laid out the bow pattern from the center of knot on each limb. Should have a stiff spot in the same area of each limb. I hope to get started on the tillering this coming weekend. You & DCM are my inspiration on this one. Congrats again on such a challenge.

Brian I'm kinda low tech and these dang computers just have too many buttons on them sometimes     :knothead:   One wrong "enter" and you've altered, deleted, edited the wrong thing ha ha. Sometimes I stare at the screen and go "ok, what did I just do?" LOL

bad idea giving control of a high tech medium to a low tech guy
