That's true Linc, you gotta look at the belly profile for the real angle, even swap it around on the tree to see the other side bend. Makes for some sweet dreams huh?  "[dntthnk]"    :D

Dano, I watching and learning. That bow is sure gonna be easy to hang up. I don't see where you are going to have so much extra mass in the limb, now that the knot is out you will just have simular amount of wood with a space in the middle.

Shaun, hopefully the grain runs true in the remaining wood, It bends better and I've heard no ticks out of her.  :D

I thought that too Rusty.

Dano if you've got enough wood left I'd take the knot out.

Ohhhhh Dano that ain't good.  here is a pic of a knot, not on a hill but ya can see the wood of the ring is contigoius around the knot and even going over the edge of the knot.  I have a couple of bows that have hill knots if ya want to see them.  I am afraid ya will pick a spliter up right there.  around the knot yha work just like the rest of the back following one ring up the hill.  then ya dig the center of the knot out till ya pick that ring that comes over the edge again.  it's all one ring.

this bow has been  shot alot.  knot is still in perfect condition.  one ring over the knot and thru the knot too the belly.

Thanks Rusty, I'll just have to start working around knots a lot slower, the rings were thin at that part of the knot and real easy to violate. Well if anything this  stave has one good limb I can save for a billet.

well dano if yha do leave it a little stiff there she may hold together espically if she has thin rings it may shoot up a storm.  it will be a place to watch.

ROFLMAO....Dano!  I've heard a lot of reasons for 'flipping' limbs on a bow, but that's a new one for me!     "[dead]"
