Looks really nice Sparky.  It's a build along buddy, not a race.  No worries.  Thanks for posting.  Now where's the trophy shot.

Looks great to me Sparks. Tips look great. Where'd ya get the elephant ivory for the strike plate?

Uh, from an elephant?

What about piano ivories?

Them Sparks is kinda like gypsies.  They come to town with a cart load of stuff.  Half of it you don't know where it comes from.

Weeeeell,, got her all gussied up I guess. She turned out at 68" NTN 49#@29". Not my best tiller by far but the dang knots bout fdrove me crazy.
She has 13 visible knots, about 15 deg of twist and loads of whoop-te-doos. Think I call her "Knothaid", inspired by my good buddy Dano.
She draws and shoots Ooooohh so sweet. Think I'll take her to the Texas State Longbow shoot commin up and give her a good shaggin'.
It's been fun guys..thanks for staying along for the ride. I know this was a long build along.
Now I gots to get me a "proper" piece of Yew...  :bigsmyl:    :bigsmyl:

Looks real fine bud! Real fine!

Don't be so hard on yourself about the tiller job.All I see is a wee bit of stiffness in that outer third/top limb? Looks like a well done job?

Finish in great, nocks, and what is that handle, rattan?

Well Rodg,I just keep putting it off.The thing has a pretty good dose of deflex, and I need to address it,just not sure how I want to do that.

Thought about dry heat, then steam, then takedown, then sinew, yada, yada.I'll get to it someday.

I've been to busy with my hatchet bow here lately to think on it much.Got that dude shootin! Not a winner, but it will compete!

Tim...on another note...I reflexed my Yew some with dry heat but I think it was still some what wet..may still be!
Iffin it was me I'd use steam my friend. From what I'v read it seems to work better with Yew and will "hold" better...just a thought

;-)

It ain't the bow your are after.  There will be lots of them.  It's the satisfaction of having done it right by your standards.  Great lesson Sparky.  Hope some newbies are watching.
