58" Ambush Bow
« on: March 09, 2006, 10:56:00 PM »
Finally got this one finished up.Its high elevation yew with 56 rings per inch and is 58" NTN and 61 lbs. at 28". It has water buffalo tips and the stave had about 3" of natural deflex so I just heated in some shallow reflex to the tips.
It is near braced the profile while relaxed so it isn't under much strain while braced, This also aids in making this easy to string while laying down.
I haven't run any F/D charts yet however this bow shoots very nice with plenty of speed. Keenan

That is a work of art! Unusual skinning, I love how it works with the tips and overall design. Nicely executed!

Thanks for the kind words everyone, I will get a full draw posted soon as well as the F/D specs.
She's a sweet shooter and is very quick, and I think it will handle the braced for long periods test but I think the hardest part of this contest is to get matched results with a lighter arrow,,Keenan

Quality #8 "It must shoot a heavy arrow, in excess of ten grains per pound of draw weight, and at 15 yards strike pretty much where a considerably lighter arrow does."

Keenan, what you do meen by, "matched results with a lighter arrow" ?
