I've looked everywhere in Alton, IL for a store to sell plastic map tubes.  I found this plan on the web for a tube quiver and I need a map tube.  I don't think a shipping tube would work as it is cardboard.  First rain and it's toast--soggy toast.

Here is the plans that I found and want to make.  Anyone have a 3-4" x 40" map tube that you want to sell to me?

That site belongs to James Wrenn, I believe. He is a member here.  Try this link, and see if you can send  him a PM.  He is a great guy, and makes some really good stuff.

Most religions teach that you earn salvation by keeping rules. Jesus didn't teach that "good people" go to heaven. He taught that "forgiven people" go to heaven. And He invited everyone, no matter what their past, to come to Him and be forgiven.

newhunter---check your archery shops that sell PSE equipment and ask for the arrow tubes that their Radial Weave arrows come in--plastic with rubber end caps---should be perfect for whtab you have in mind

I'm also interested in where to find those tubes. Checked all the local Staples, Office depot, etc. Nothing but cardboard. All I can find online for the clear plastics is from wholesalers with 25+ min quantities. - eric

How about thin walled PVC. It comes in 2", 3" and 4" diameter.   Pat

I can pick up a map case at the marine supply store if you can't find one elsewhere.  I think they run about $10... it's a bit ridiculous considering it's just a piece of plastic, but it does work well.
Here's mine:

It worked out so well I just bought the camo leather to make myself another!

The commercial version of what you blokes are making is the Simmons rota quiver.

Depends on whether you like building your own stuff or just want one.  :D

The Simmons is a lot heavier and a lot slower to get arrows in and out of than these little homemade quivers. The rotary thing is one of those things that looks good on paper but is less than perfect when you take them to the woods. jmo

I want one and will find some plastic tubbing, but boatersworld wants 12.99 + 6.95 shipping.  I'll pass on the plastic tube until I find one cheaper or free

I've made several of Mr. Wrenn's quivers too.  i couldn't find any plastic tubes in my area either so i used cardboard tubes but covered them with two layers of good packing tape and haven't had any problems yet.  i love em, super lite, super quiet...

I make one from those same plans, thanks James. I love this type of quiver. I ended up using 4" schedule 30 PVC pipe. Its not to bad on weight but probably a map tube would be lighter. How did you guys attach the material to the tube? I had a hard time getting mine to glue to it.
Jeremy is that camo leather on the one in the picture? Looks great. Where do you find camo leather at?

I made one of these using 4" schedule 35 pvc (because it was free)and it is about as heavy as the one I made using 8oz. leather. I would suggest not using pvc and find a map case instead. My favoriye one now is one made with highnoonhunters design where you use a wood backing strip and just a cup on the bottom and a small strap on the top. You can use a hood or do like I did and make a tube for the top to protect your fletch, these are very light and very functional. Thank you very much "highnoonhunter". Or he sells them too!!

My Friend Kenny makes those. He has 6 or 7 made from PVC, Cardboard(waterproffed), ect. He attaches QD rifle swivels to them and snaps on a nylon rifle sling. They are pretty neat, but a little noisy.
Is it too late to be what I could have been?

I am a little late on this one but I get them for keeping my Blue prints safe when I have them at Office max and or Office Depot. They may cost more I dont know. They are called Document tubes or somthing like that and go for about $8.00 depending on size.
