I never used to shoot paper...I always figure what's the point when really the first and only one arrow counted. Then on a trip to texas for some piggies I drew on two piggies and wiffed them both. The reason for the wiff....short draw, no anchor, poor release....blah blah blah....all the stuff that should have ingrained in my head from shooting paper.
Now I shoot paper everday. For me If an arrow doesn't hit were the other 4 are it's cause there was an inconsistancy in my form. When I see tight groups I know I'm not dropping my bow arm, I know my release is perfect, no short draw...etc..when I can get my arrows to group without thinking or concentrating on anything but the point of impact I know I am ready to point my arrow at a 4 legged creature.
