So is that the 13th bow you've made with that particular draw knife? Looks like you're keepin' score.

Nice bow by the way.

Good golly that is a heck of a knot. Great job on making that a shooter. Got a name for it yet!

Named it the "Honey Hole"  it is osage orange at 62" it is 50# @ 28".

Adkmountainken sent me the stave that someone named Darren sent him. Kenny wanted me to make him a bow, so I agreed I would, if I got a stave out of it for myself. Kenny is sending me the other stave and which ever bow turns out best, I'll send it back to him. I hope the other stave turns out good as I really like the character of this bow. At 50# it shoots fast, but does have some pretty good hand shock! First holey knot I ever worked, so that means something to me as well! I think the extra mass in the lower limb around the knot may be the cause of the hand shock???

Got some true oil curing on it right now and will lace on a leather handle this evening. Not putting a rest on this one,,, I like it plain and I shoot left and Ken shoots right, so it will be good for either of us. ha, I just realized I drew it righty in the picture! Old habits die hard. I used to shoot right until I leaned I was right eyed. I do fair either way.

Joe I'm in the same boat. I'm finishing up an osage bow that has five good knots in each limb, plus one in the handle.  The outermost knot on the top limb is only about 2 1/2" from the the string knock, and it too is a good sized knot.  I was thinking the same thing as far as hand shock, but if there is a way to get rid of it.  I brought mine to the top in case you hadn't seen it.

Yours looks good though, good job.
