New Custom Arm Guards
« on: November 28, 2010, 04:28:00 PM »
Hello my name is Scott and I live in Cody, Wyoming. I want to tell you a little bit about myself. First I work for a very well known saddle maker here in Cody and do taxidermy. I have hunted with traditional gear exclusively since 1995. I guide elk hunts up in Montana- that is if I don't draw a limited quota tag in Wyoming. I guide for a friend, who offers some of the best back country archery hunts around! With my experience building saddles and working leather, I have designed some products that I could not find and improved on ones I liked to fit my needs. The first product I am offering are my custom arm guards. I built one to go in the 3 Rivers accessories division and won that division.  Thanks to all who voted for me. These arm guards are DELUXE. They are tooled out of 8 oz Herman Oak saddle skirting and lined with a chap leather, the stitching is 8 stitches per inch and they feature antler buttons. They are formed and retain their shape. I go through an extensive finish process, edges are rounded, burnished and dyed. They are oiled to color with virgin olive oil, antiqued and then a finish coat applied. These arm guards are 6 1/2" long, are scalloped and are rigged with cross over stretch cord. Let me tell you, they are comfortable. I feel the length is good, giving plenty of protection and holding hunting clothes out of the way. I contoured the front to give more freedom so it does not dig into your wrist. Had a problem with others interfering when glassing. They are little spendy but considering the quality of the material and the craftsmanship that goes into them there top end. Let me know what you think, this is a new venture. I have also designed a scabbard to carry my recurve safely while a horseback. It has been working very well. I have never seen one and it protects bow and quiver. I have a possible bag in the works.  I also am working on some custom knives and sheaths. I have had a lot of requests from clients who have seen my personal combo so look for those soon. I will post these items when available. Feel free to contact me with any questions and again let me know your thoughts. Good Hunting Scott.

I am getting a good response to my products and have recevied orders and requests. I have not got much response on my inlaid basket stamp guard and was wondering if it was the price or just people dont like the design. If I can get some feed back it will help me decide weather I should make it or not. It is a little more due to the extra time to make. Thanks Scott.
