Int'l surface mail was done away with in '07, probably because of the excessive time in shipping. There is only 1st class Int'l and Priority Int'l, both services are pretty fast considering the distance. Pack it well. If it is a 1 piece LB I use a piece of 6" thin-wall pvc with the plastic end caps. If a 1 pc recurve use the sturdiest box you can find and be sure to cushion the tips well with something the tips won't poke through. Mark it FRAGILE,the damage I've seen has been a result of other parcels being stacked on top of the bow.
You'll have to complete and sign a customs form available at any post office. You should insure it and be aware that if you file a damage or loss claim on a parcel sent over-seas the reimbursement slower than on domestic claims.
