Finally...my book is done!
« on: January 05, 2008, 08:58:00 AM »
After almost 5 years of off and on writing and editing (when I have time); my book is finished!

It is titled:

           Fins, Skins and Feathers
( a collection of longbow hunting and fly-   fishing essays from across Ontario)

It is 22 chapters and was a labour of love.
Now for the work of trying to sell it... ;)   :)

I have to thank Kelly aka "The Forest Witch" for continually pushing me to believe in my writing and finish it, she always believed... :)

wish me luck folks, hopefully in less than a year it will be out.

well,   I had a chat with out neighbour who self-published a book  a few years back.

He told me that self-publishing is the way to go when trying to get a niche-book on the market.
You have total control of every sale and you can make a profit.
If you go through a big publisher he said you get about a buck a book...not my cup of tea.
If you break even he told me ; then you are doing well. :(

So, it looks like I'll be going through the same place he got his book out of and it will be on the market by summer!

Me too.........I want one! If it is ready in time, I'd bet you could move quite a few at Cloverdale and Compton. I should be at both and if you decide to set up/sell there, let me know and I'll help you out if I can. Mike

Sounds like there's quite a few flyfishing fanatics in the traditional hunting community.IMO they do go hand in hand, especially bamboo flyrods.

Please be sure and let us know when it's available.

Big Dog, Do you have a proofreader? I've done some writing and find myself locating proof errors in magazines, catalogs, and such quite often. Would be glad to offer an extra set of eyes if you would like.
I also will be looking for your work to be published.
