I have a project in mind that could take several years. Planning on taking pics of one object and the surrounding area. Need some opionions on some good programs that would include time, date and other info. Thanks... John

Try XnView-----a free software program from downloads.com. I use it exclusively---it is powerful and easy to use.

Are you looking for a photo manipulation suite or a photo database. If you are looking for good photo manipulation software at a good price (aka free) try The Gimp (
http://www.gimp.org
). For a database, I cant help you there as I wrote my own to suit my own needs.
