arrow deflection info?
« on: January 05, 2008, 06:21:00 PM »
Some time a while back, someone posted how to make a spine tester.  They also had a conversion chart for it on aluminum arrow sizes,  Anyone know or remember who or where this info is?

Thanks

For aluminum or carbon deflection measured at 28", 1.94lbs., multiply by .825 to get the deflection for the ATA 26", 2lb., method.  Also, to get pounds spine directly from the 28 inch method simply divide 31.5" by the deflection.

Example: a 2016 deflects .531" so; 31.5/.531=59.3lbs.

I have some conversion charts that are in the Spine-O-Meter instruction manual that I can send to anyone's email if you want them.

Kevin made me on of his "Spine O Meters" for Christmas. It had a few options that I wanted. Let me say this, since he first showed me the Prototype, I thought this is one fine tester. Now that you can test alu, carbon and wood with out changing the indicator, it makes things simple. While checking a wood shaft you can just look at the indicator and get the alu and carbon equal... Thanks again Kevin

Mark, you are welcome.

I will post these charts but I am not sure if it is simple to post PDF files; can someone help me?
