I just had a bad experience with Webshots and have no desire to head back there any time soon. Yup, a virus! So, I'm wondering if the Google Picasa is any different.
In short, I'm a bit skiddish of posting any photos... any time soon.
Yes, I went into my Webshots account, uploaded a few winter scene photos and then took the modified URL (600 pixel) and posted them into a Tradgang thread, Virginia section. About 20 minutes later an anti-virus pop-up was on the desktop warning me of a virus and to use the "demo" anti-virus now found in the right hand corner of my computer. And then it got worse... all kinds of things started happening with this and that "attacking" the puter. In short, I just shut the computer down, and brought it into my local PC pro for a check up. A little less than $100.00 later... my computer came back.
(And yes, I did delete all photos in my recent Tradgang... from my office computer.) I was told by the PC wizard the Norton Anti-Virus didn't catch the problem because it was so new. (The "fix" for this problem was just brought out a day earlier... so I was told).
