You can get good quality flash type cameras- like the wildgame - which I got for $65 including shipping (free).
 If you are putting the camera out in a place the flash will bring in thieves - well go infrared.
 I put my wildgame out on a trail that I had taken a deer last year. I went to find it at midnight as it is so close to a bedding area.
 The camera was gone.
But- I had seen overturned rocks and bear scat; and walked around until the cameras flash led me to the camera.
 I know there is a 50/50 chance it landed with the flash pointing up- but it was pushed into a boggy area that it may not have survived over a long time- and I did find it.

 Note to fellow idiots: the memory cards have a lock on the side of them- if the lock is in place- well... your not going to get any pictures. I didn't even know it was there until the trail camera had zero pictures in it...

The best for the money to me is the Scoutguard, for around $200. Check out the site that Kevin linked. I've had several different makes, and the Scoutguard is the best I've used, and costs less than some I've had that failed in a few months. Mine has been working flawlessly for a couple of years, and goes for months on a set of batteries. The last set I wore out took thousands of shots, including hundreds of videos.

Hello Weez! Good to see you are roaming around here. For my nickle I like the Moultrie 4 meg camera. I have 2 of them and have never had a problem with them. They are priced around $75.00. I used a Wildgame Inovations one time and got no pictures for some reason. I had it on a pawing (scrape) for you northern boys and the other 2 cameras on the trail in and out. I had pictures on both of the other cameras and none on the Wild game camera. I checked the card to see if I have left it locked and didn't. I never was able to find out how I missed getting pictures on the camera.

Wildlife Inovations makes an inexpensive camera that is a breeze to set-up and takes a slick looking picture.  Only downside is it tends to burn batteries pretty quick(4 C's in a about 10 days).  Other than that, I have four on my hunting property and am really happy with them.

I am just getting into this.  I did a lot of looking and ended up with a couple Scout Guard 550's.  I ordered them in camo and they came as SG550V's at a great price of $206 including a camo python cable lock and free 2 gb SD card.  I like them a lot so far.  They have really long battery life so they are the ones will keep out most of the time.  I also got a Wildgame IR4. That is also working out well, but a lot more basic than the SG.  However, for under $100 it looks to be a good camera.  With the C cells and a lot shorter battery life, I use this one more to scout other stands in the area I am hunting.  I only am putting it out a day or so at a time for now rather than setting it up for long periods of time on a spot.

I have several different ones from moultrie, wild game inovations, stealth cam, and a couple others I cant think of but none of them touch my cuddeback capture flash.  I have a ir cuddeback but I do not like it as much.  The moultrie took great pics but was heavy and difficult to mount solid until i built stands for them.  ANd then the flash quit on them.  I have found that for me a flash is better as I get better pics and I have watched deer spook from the IR and have not seen the same with the flash. If anything they get more interested and come in for a close up.  I convertyed to cuddebback last year and will not buy anything else again unless someone really improves battery life on another camera.  For 200 bucks they last and now they have a 25 mail in rebate.

One that gets over looked at alot is tasco there around 100 dollars for a 5 mega pix. but man was i impressed by the clarity of the pix. There are very small about the size of mitten so to say lol love mine and going to buy more this next spring

I just bought a Bushnell Trophy cam.  It seems like a really great camera for the money.  I got the camera, lock box, python cable, and 2 2gb cards for $229 shipped.  I hung it for the first time last Sunday and I'll be heading in to swap cards tomorrow.  I can't wait to see what I got.
