self video help

Hi all, I have a sony small dvd camera, been playing with it using it for bowfishing, my brother and nephew.  I want to use it for trad bowhunting, to record my hunts for my grandkids and me later in life when I get oldtimers.  I was thinking of using the gorilla legs (the adjustable legs that wrap around everything), and mount it using the remote that came with the camera.  any tips and/or advice?  Would I be better off getting one of the new small flash video camera's?

It really depends on if you plan on editing the films as far as type of camera. The tree arms work great once you get the hang of them.

I use a Panasonic SDR-S26.  It's small, lightweight, and has alot of zoom(70x optical).  It uses a SDHC card(so no worrying about running out of tape)and the battery life is decent.  
I have captured plenty of animals on camera but no shots.  Overall I'm pretty happy with it.

I use a Sony Handicam miniDV, not the best camera but takes decent video(small field of view,though). I've actually taken several hogs and an armadillo on video with it(and a bunch of squirrel misses).
I use a tree camera mount(Gorilla brand I think),it wraps around the tree with a strap and ratchet. Works great, it's dead solid even when my knees are knockin'.
I mount it on the right side of me(I'm right handed)so I can get the arrow being drawn back before the shot.Have fun.
