Handy tip for trailcams
« on: September 05, 2010, 09:42:00 PM »
While trying to hang some trailcams my brother came up with a slick idea.  We were trying to position the cam so that it was looking at food plot on our hunting ground.  The problem was that any tree big enough to support the camera was about 15-20' away from the edge of the plot and almost totally blocked by tall grass(we could have mowed the grass down to get it out of the way but didn't want to break up the scene that much).

My brother suggested we bungee cord the camera to an old heavy duty tripod.  It worked awesome.  Not only were we able to place the camera almst anywhere, with the adjustable legs we could position the camera anywhere we wanted.

It worked so well I wanted to get some tripods for our other trailcams.  I hit 3 yardsales near my home and got my hands on two more for next to nothing.

I hope you guys find this tip useful,
Good luck this season-TRW

4x4 post work in those spots you don't have a tree also. with some of the new trail cameras they come with the threads on the bottom so you can screw them to the tripod just as you would a regular camera.
