Downloading mini-DV cassettes
«

I have a Sony handicam that uses Firewire, my computer is USB compatible only.
Any ideas on how I can download these miniDV tapes?
Thanks

Unless you have high speed USB 3.0, USB does not handle video transfer well. Best option would be to put a firewire card in your computer. Plug and play and relatively inexpensive.

Actually my other camera does pretty well with the USB cable.
I am going to take your advice and install a Firewire port though.
Thanks, Jim
