That's pretty cool that you are shooting a bow with some great history Eidsvolling!

Notice Rod is so neat that he didn't even mess up the line.
Way to go Rod. Any suggestions for us on how to get closer to the X?

Jeff, I think you should make a new rule, that Rod and X2 HAVE to shoot all five arrows without pulling them. That way while the rest of us are working on our form and focus....they could be doing something...like repairing arrows

Great Shooting X2 and Rod. Form tips would be neat.I usually warm a round or two on a used target. Then I put a new target and go for it. My first two weeks scores have been above what I usually get when practicing. I hope its because I focus more under pressure, but it could be just luck!!

Great shooting Rod.  I hope to hit a 60 before this is all over.  As for tips, I know this has been said a million times, but you just have to do everything the same every time.  I always have a shoot routine that I use for each arrow.
1.Establish stance (shoulder toward the target, feet shoulder with apart, back foot slightly back).
2.Nock arrow, grasp string in the first groove.
3.Focus on target
4.Inhale slowly and exhale slowly
5.Inhale while drawing to anchor, with natural pause on inhale, use a three point anchor middle finger corner of the mouth, cock feather on the tip of the nose, and thumb tucked behind the jawbone.
6.Pause at anchor, increase back tension while focusing on the target, and let the release happen.
7.Hold focus and bow arm on the target until the arrow hits.
8.Exhale, relax, and prepare for the next shot.

Always make every shot count (shoot it like it was the only shot)
When practicing I don't shoot a lot of groups I only shoot one arrow at a time and go get it.
Once you have established your form, you can concentrate on repeating it each and every time.  It is all about consistency.

Enjoy the shot

That's a good reminder X2. I get a good shot in there and then I tend to hurry up a bit for the next one. Must think it will be just as good and can't wait to see it! Usually I am disappointed with the results. Thanks for this reminder.  David

When I do exactly what X2 says (right down to "Enjoy the shot"), the arrow goes where I want.  When I don't, the result is a 33.  'Nuff said, IMO.  Thanks!
