I've got the sickness
« on: February 01, 2007, 04:45:00 PM »
I love my bob lee.  It's curvy, smooth and fits my hand nicely...

My new black swan is sleek and powerful.  Perfect for offseting my impending mid-life crisis...

My bear kodiak magnum is perfect with its AMS reel mounted and ready to go...

So why do I want more and more bows???

I've now got an Owl Bow, by Ed Scott on order.  It'll be 56-60 inches of snakey osage, sinew and rawhide backed with a Choctaw pattern on the backing.  I've asked him to put an owl and a hawk on the belly of the limbs.  55-60#@27".

(and already, I'm sorta eyeing some of the really short recurves that're out there)

I'm not even bored with my bows.  I just like to shoot all of them!  Is there a cure?

I haven't tried to take the cure yet myself, but I hear there is a fairly effective one - start building your own bows!  From the way some of those guys talk it makes this sickness seems like a minor cold.   :D

I've been through ALOT of bows. I now have an 86# Jeffery recurve that has been relegated to a fish bow(I know it's overkill, but I needed a reason to keep it and at 86# I can hit them DEEP!!) and my baby that I got in a trade, 66" 83# @ 29.5" Morrison longbow.  It's not the R/D Morrison classic, but a dang near straight limbed bow, with a straight grip, that's about 15 years old. It will throw a 722gr arra at 185fps, and dang near aims itself. I can't believe I am saying this, but...Since I got this bow a year ago, I have shot many bows made by many people, at the shop, indoor and outdoor 3-D shoots, etc.. I had no desire to own any of them. Is it possible? I mean could it really be that I found the perfect bow?
