I was having the same problem but i was hitting my lower lip. I was pressing my anchor to hard to my face. Started just touching the corner of my mouth softly and it went away.

Now I remember what caused mine this past spring. I was in the process of switching to 3under. I was tilting my head way into the string in an effort to get the arrow better lined up with my eye (arrows were hitting way right-left handed shooter). I eventually dropped my ring finger and shoot 2under-problem gone! Everytime I try 3under now I still nip my nose.

Now this is getting ridiculous!  I worked all day on Tuesday trying to eliminate the nose slap thing.  I finally got it under control (3 fingers under, again)
I went to the work shed to make a few string keepers.  I was using a Dremel tool with a ceramic wheel to cut deer antler.  The disc broke and WHACKED me square on the tip of my already sore nose!

Seems like when you get wounded; the whole universe is out to get that spot again!
I have broken a toe and had people step on my foot twenty times.
Once I seriously burned my hand; and I was sitting in the doctors office; with my hand held up- so it wouldn't bump into anything. The doctor walked in; and grabbed my hand- and shook it while introducing himself...

Everything will be out to get your nose now- so beware !!!

Make sure you are anchoring tight into your face.  Although it may sound contradictory, I had that trouble once.  I found that I was not getting into my face and the string was rolling into my nose, rather then straight ahead.  It would be worth a try anyhoo.

My wife got a big kick out of me the other day. I was running on the treadmill in the basement and I had this great idea that I would run for 15 minutes go and shoot some arrows in the basement then run and shoot etc. Well just an FYI if you decide to do this and you are wearing an IPOD take it OFF. The first shot hit the IPOD wires and slapped me in the neck and arm. I still have a red line accros my neck, chin and arm.
The man who thinks he can and the man who thinks he can't are both right!!!

For the archer that has everything including a sore nose we at ACME Archery have designed a product with you in mind.

Now you can breath comfortably and with confidence knowing that you are protecting your nose from annoying string slap. That’s right this lightweight, space age, fashionable device will make you the envy of all your friends at the archery range. But why stop there? Wear it at the beach, at work or in your shop while working with power tools. Any place that you find yourself sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong, you will be able to strap on your nose protector and address your day knowing that you are protected.

Sorry I can't help myself.  :biglaugh:

I find I'm more liable to hit my nose with a tab - about a year ago was having the same trouble.  Haven't really had a problem since using a big shot glove.  I tend to draw really deep into the corner of my mouth - may not be the best form but it feels right.

Pick a spot!  :D
Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

A couple years ago I thought I was hitting my nose with the string until I noticed the height of the index on the nock and decided to file 'em off.

Found out that the index was what was hitting my nose, not the string.

I'd been using Stotler Mid-nocks prior to that dozen arrows which came with some kinda nock with a sharply ridged index.
