Here is the first Pope arrow:

The first Pope arrow I got off of noted author- T.M. Hamilton, who got it off of noted artist- Remington Schuyler, who was a friend of Saxton Pope's. I've had it for over 20 years now. I have the packaging that I got it in, from Mr. Hamilton, with his handwriting on it.

The second Saxton Pope arrow, I also got off of Gene Wensel. Gene did a story on an identical arrow that he used to take a doe, in Traditional Bowhunter magazine. It was actually one he took to Africa, in 1926, I believe it was offhand. but never used. It is a work of art!!! Fletching is Goose feathers tied with Cat gut. It comes with a Broadhead, in beautiful condition. The only flaws are a slight flake off of the nock and a little spot in the fletching that was like that when I got it. The nocks are BONE reinforced. Also has a Gold crest put on it by Mr. Pope. It also has a number written on it. Don't know if Mr. Pope or someone else put this on, but I'd assume it was Mr. Pope. It is a real BEAUTY!!!

Some real history in those last posts. It would be very cool to own something like those bows/arrows.

Brad,
Unfortunately I don't have any hero pics to post yet this year. I have hunted with my HH on almost all of my hunts. I have had a lot of close encounters but I only had one shot opportunity so far that resulted in a miss when the doe ducked as I shot. She looked right at me as I was drawing. As you know it it gun season now but I am still hunting with my HH. I hope your season is going well.

First off great history there, thank you for posting those pics.  Secondly, Shawn got a new JD Berry Misty Dawn in and asked if I would post the pics in this thread so for you viewing pleasure I present the first String Follow JD Berry in about 20 years.

Hey Brian,

What do you think about those limbs ... are they trapped like a Vixen?

I really like that purple heart riser on that Misty Dawn string-follow Shawn!

How does your Misty Dawn compare to your Vixen?  Pat B. has reported some great results with his Vixen.

For comparison I have shot (am shooting) both the NM Classic and NM Shelton and find their performance to be very comparable.  I would guess that Misty Dawn and Vixen are similar unless there is a significant difference in draw weight or are there major differences in limb construction?

Enjoy!

Shoot straight, Shinken

Here's my latest; got it in a trade with Coaster 500. This one's a beaut; 64", 50@28, a limited edition 'Longbowman's Choice" with yew and carbon. After I adjusted the nock point to fit me, the bow shoots lasers with my wood arrows. A couple of pics:

These HH bows are truly addictive, but I don't consider that a bad thing.

Shinken : my vixen is over 10 #'s heavier so its hard to compare the misty dawn and vixen. However i do have a shelton about the same weight and the misty dawn seems smoother and softer on the release.  My vixen and my misty dawn are my two i shoot the best, if that says anything.

Hey guys, I recently called Dan Toelke to ask him a few questions about his D bow. He said he would just send me one in my specs to shoot for a while. Long story short, I sent him the money for it the other day after being unable to stop shooting it for the past 3 weeks. I believe I may be infected. Further symptoms include ordering a Northern Mist Shelton the other day. This thread is the reason for my initial interest which then led to my first exposure at the hands of Mr. Toelke. Guess I'm a goner for sure now!
Having done so much, with so little, for so long, I can now do anything with nothing.
