He is "testing" a new Liberty string follow for Allan.  There is more on his thread about something way beyond Way Cool.  Check it out.  Lucky rascal   :D  .

Well,
I glued some 130gr No Mercy's onto my newly acquired 60-65 Ash arrows and went out for a test shoot.  YEP they fly beautifully,  I think Ill just keep them for Hunting and keep the 2117s for target on 3D.  I love having options.

What sponsors besides HH and 3Rivers carry the HH 3/1 broadheads in 140gr 5/16"?

Well I froze my butt off in my ground blind for the last time this season, no deer sighted unfortunately. Haven't had an encounter with a whitetail since nov. 5.... :-(

Now I can  look forward to some carefree rabbit hunting til the Hill Hog Hunt in February. Really looking forward to that!

Brian, are you shooting those 60-65s out of the bows in your signature line. How long? I would have thought them to be stiff....

Rossco,
Yes and more specifically out of my vixen and the 54lb JHill.  Im getting probably 51 ish pounds at my draw. The Douglas firs, and POC are cut 29" with 125gr and the ash are 28.5 with 150 up front. They actually bareshaft weak but fly good so I shoot them

Mudd,
That pull tab is kind of hard to see on that left arrow. That's some fine shooting.
God Bless

Chuck,
re:

"Ok so I've been shooting Hill style bows for a little over a month now. In love with my Old Tom, briefly owned a Big5 and sold it back to original owner, and now have a Redman also to shoot along with the Old Tom."

I recommend watching this.
An archery club in the Borders area of Scotland compiled it for viewing on their website.

"Hitting them like Howard Hill"

John Shultz shooting the bow from which the "Old Tom" is based on.

When I visited David Miller, I brought with me my Old Tom. He sat me down and had me watch these videos.
He told me the bow Schultz uses in the video is what he based the Old Tom form on.

You might find it interesting.
For me  ......(in my shooting), .....  it is the most sensible approach.
Aiming while drawing, fire when at anchor point .......perfect.
Tradition is not the worship of ashes, but the preservation of fire.

Just added another Hill style bow to my collection. Traded with a friend that said I'd like it,he was right.
It's a Ron Maulding Big Horn,"Tamarack"
70" 65#@28" Tamarack core between maple lams with dark green glass, back and belly.Took a few shots in the house, smooooth draw and seems pretty quick.I'll get my targets back out tomorrow after the snow is over and try her out.

Well, I'm trapped indoors due to weather and having two little ones that can not quite handle the wet cold yet causes the mind to come up with ideas.
I have a lot of mis matched arrows floating around for one reason or another and since I have settled in on my target and hunting arrows (for now) i went about finding ways to use these others up.

I was already at Home Depot this morning so I picked up a package of 8-32 stainless screws some nuts, flats and 1/4-20 wing nuts and went to work.

I do not have a grain scale so I used a VERY scientific method of weighing my head, first I held a 145 grain field point and then I held a finished wing nut game head and when they felt the same I screwed them on to some Heritage 150s I had laying around and went outside to shoot while the 2 y/o was napping.  WOW they are great,  I think I know what my SGH will be from now on.  Next is to just put a washer behind a FP and see what happens

Homemade on left and right, G5 SGH in middle

I am very very surprised at the amount of string follow in these bows, its every bit an inch or more. And this baby flat out shoots.
