Brian that is the lighter weight one and it formed to my back very quickly and works great.  I cut out some outdoor carpet and put it in the bottom to protect it.

Just wanted to say what a great forum this is,especially this Hill thread.
I asked where I could buy a copy of the Shulz DVD a few days ago. I got a bunch of pms and emails offering to sell me(at ridiculously low prices, pretty much just enough to cover packing/postage) Give me for free and even borrow a copy and send it back when I was done.I really appreciate all the offers, thought that's really pretty cool.  :)    :notworthy:

Brian, I purchased the soft leather back quiver from HH archery as well.  It forms to your back right away with no break in period and is very comfortable to wear.  I also put a piece of carpet in the bottom of it and oiled it with a leather protector.  HH archery probably has the best deal going for a very functional, high quality back quiver.

I like the one I got for Christmas. I have adapted to it quickly, and the bow arm bump of the quiver is already automatic.

? For ya. What quiver is that?

The quiver is a Howard Hill Archery.  So is my glove, armquard, and half of the arrows in the quiver.  Tell ya what Those Ekins make some top notch cedar arrows for cheap.  All of the ones he sales are matched to one spine deflection not 5.  I make my own alot but only custom ones will come from them. Nice! Congrats makes me want one more and more.

Well gang my 175 VPA heads came in today so I could not help my self. I screwed one on my 2117 and out I went. My index finger swellings is on its way down but it is still cold for some reason. and the ring finger is back to 100% but my middle finger is still wrapped up in the soft splint so I figured 3 1/2 out of five was good enough to try.  WOW these heads fly great !!!! three shots was all I could manage but baby steps!! if it would have been a deer I would have got 2 out of 3.  I still plan on hunting with my woodies but its nice knowing they fly well.

Brian, I shoot VPA 3 blades as well. I love both the screw ins and glue ons but the glue on is damn near indestructible if you ask me. I used the 190gr ones for the first time this year and they've survived everything including a direct shot into my basement wall when the arrow went clean through the target. I've found the steal is very good quality and really holds an edge.

Also, CONGRATS ON GETTING BACK TO SHOOTING! Hope your recovery is speedy.  :-)

I have the lighter weight Hill quiver too. It really
forms to your back quickly and keeps your arrows real quiet. I have had the heavier one too but I like the lighter one best.

I wanted to show off my new backquiver from Mike's Archery Leather. It is his version of a HH style with a few tweaks. For me this seems to work better because I like the arrows to not stick out wider than my body. The way he attaches the strap to the top of the quiver also seems to make it easier to extract and return arrows. It has been the easiest backquiver for me to draw an arrow out from with broadheads. This quiver also has a soft leather which makes it easier to conform to my back.

Okay for all you Hill bow owners. I am really liking the looks of the Hill bow and I have for a while now. I have shot mostly longbows since I picked up a trad bow a long time ago.

The only thing I struggle with is the length of the bow that everyone seems to like in these bows. I usually don't like anything longer than 64" and that is the outer limit for me. 66" would be a big step for me. I am sure it would be a smoother bow to shoot, but how much do you find that you give up in movement when in the woods?

I draw just over 28" but I am going to be changing my form just a little. I will be just slightly more upright and when I tried it the other day I was between 28.5"-29". I am sure I will probably end up at 28.5" min will this make much difference.
