Art told me about Canola oil when I got the quiver. I used Canola oil. Canola oil does not stop sweat. The rest of the quiver is in absolutely, drop dead, great condition !

Re lacing is not a problem. It would be better if it did not need to be done.

I need your opinions please. I am sending my 12 year old Wesly back to Montana for Craig to refinish and put new antler limb tips on her. I don't now why I didn't have the antler tips put on when I ordered her. Question, Glossy or Mat Finish? I have come to like the glossy finish look but how durable is it compared to the duller mat finish?

John,
As I remember from my selfbow days, high gloss is the harder finish.

I have seen one of Craig's high gloss finishes.

You will not be disappointed.

soap creek I only called him to see how he was doing! We got to talking about dogs and he said he was breaking out a form and naming it after one of his dogs and the next thing I know i'm telling him to build me one.

Go with the gloss, harder finish. Craig told me he uses Fullerplast. Easy to knock the sheen down during season with some military face paint camo stick. Take it of with mineral spirits later. Very tough finish and it looks good. I saw a bocote veneered Tembo in gloss and it was very, very nice.

Dave Miller recommends just wax the bow with carnuba wax and don't buff it out until you are done hunting
 Protects the bow.

I probably spelled wrong. It' carnauba wax, it's good stuff I use Mothers car wax it is made with it. Ot the wax from the leaves of a palm plant that only grows in northeastern Brazilian states of Piaui, Ceara' and Reo Grande do Norte. It is known as "Queen of waxes".

Make sure it is the Mothers without the cleaners in it, they are abrassive and will scrach the finish.

Good point. NO cleaners as pure Carnauba waxas you can. It might be a little pricy for some but what did the bow cost. The price is cheep in comparisome.

Yep T means tembo.  The second letter is the bowyer.  As in "TC"  Tembo made by Craig.

Well Mike and straightlimbed shooters.  A while ago I called James at JD Berry archery talking to him about his Vixen and misty Dawn, and we got to talking about the reverse handle And I ordered one for June/July. Then a couple weeks ago I called and changed it to an Argos (r/d) , well I couldn't do it.  So I just got off the phone with him and changed my order AGAIN to his reverse handled now he is releasing!!! I just couldn't run my back on the straight limbed bows.

For my Pluto I'm thinking red elm core, 68" 50@26 (56-57@28) brown glass back white or clear on belly. Riser choice I'll leave up to James

I got my new David Johnson longbow in the mail today.  It's first class with perfect workmanship.  Had church tonight so I had to put aside until tomorrow.  I have to say so far I am very impressed.
