Far Rider,Exellent shooting.its what we strive for.If you just got that bow and your shooting like that, you will have a happy marriage !LOL
In the early eightys I had a HH Big 5 and I wasn't impressed with the way it shot and the grip'My new Red Cheetah is a whole differant story. The new Index grip is perfect and the workmanship is Flawless,as good as it gets,Kudus to HH and Craig.

Steve, thanks! I just bought this bow from Stacy Sheppard. Have no idea why he wanted to sell it, but I'm very very happy with it. Gorgeous yew, bocate riser and smooth as butter!

Far rider-

Good group, and I love the yew on your Hill.

There are several issues with new shooters, and the reason they stay away from traditional in the beginning.

1) compounds are mainstream, it's whats advertised and on television.
2) the new shooter gets discourage when they loose arrows.
3) new shooters want instant gratifcation, without practice.
4) new shooters can't beleive that you can hunt with a tradbow.
5) most new shooters have a hardtime drawing a tradbow.

I see more guys leaving compounds coming over to trad then guys just starting with trad. The guy that leaves compounds and starts shooting trad really enjoys archery and wants to get away from all of those gadgets, wrenches, and adjustments that need to be made with compounds. Because they already understand the concept of archery, they fall in love with the simplicity of trad, and the beauty of the bow.

When I'm out shooting my longbow and someone see's my bow, they always are attracted to the different woods, and the bows natural beauty. And then there astounished on how well I shoot my bow. It's kinda funny when your around a bunch of compound shooters, and they say hit that mark over there, and before they have there arrow nocked and sighted in, I already either hit the target with my first arrow or definietly hit it with my second arrow before they where able to take a shot.

Compounds are a great way for compainies to make money because they are able to sell lots of new gadgets year after year, but I feel that compounds ruined the real sport of archery in America. The sport of archery that Saxton, Pope, Maurice and Will Thompson, Howard Hill, Fred Bear, Roy Huff wrote about, when they spent afternoons shooting on their lawns or in the garden.

I agree tradlongbow, it can be discouraging at first. I'm sure the guy I bought it from is a trad for life guy, just think he either needed to move it, or wanted to try something different.  I sure do like it though.

When I see this post, the word ADDICTED comes to mind. Less then a month since the first post and already 1525 replies/comments. I am scared to even start reading them all. Might be dangerous to even start looking at those Hill bows. It appears that way anyway.   :archer:

Got  " Semper Fi" back  today! Been a long two weeks. Little glass issue but Craig/Jason took care of me. Looks good and shoots good. First two shots In the dark were right where they left off, in the bull! Man these bows shoot great!

Beautiful bow Ben! Congrats. I like how you left the bamboo to show as I'm personally one of those who likes to see the bamboo at least on one side.      :clapper:

Wow! Gorgeous bow!!

My 70" looks a lot like it and it saddens me to think I might have to let it go.

The marked draw weight is 58@31. I haven't let myself put it on the scale because I'm wanting my body to tell me what's right for it and not my scales.(If that makes sense.)

Thanks for sharing.

God bless,Mudd

Good looking bow Ben. have not used a bow quiver with mine yet, how does it affect things if at all?
