Shawn,

I prefer healthy doses of Jameson's for that condition.  Ny-quil just doesn't ease the pain the same.    :D

Guys, I just got up. I was feeling real bad. Curt, I thought you would call? No man, no shooting outside anyway. I am feeling a bit better today. I may go for a walk tomorrow. The snow is not too bad, we have about 15"s on the ground, but it is light and fluffy. I just got a call from my daughters fiance'(Damen), him and a bud hunted my Dads today. They went out around 11 and hunted until 2pm. They saw 23 bunnies and got 7, they said it was tough hitting them as if they let them get out to far they dissapeared in the snow, once they started shooting quick they were OK. I am gonna try and walk thru the first piece we did last year, more of a scouting trip, but if I can launch an arrow or two I will. I hope I feel good enough to do that, this cold is knocking the hell out of me. I have started the list and will post it tomorrow. Curt if ya read this call me around 8 tonight. I hope to still be awake. Shawn

Hey Shawn,

What about licenses?  Is there a spot close by that is convenient to get a non resident small game license at when I get there?  It's getting closer and closer.

Great, thanks Shawn.  I'm about to go out and shoot a little, trying to decide which bow to bring.  Probably end up bringing all three!!

I would bring a beater if ya got one. Some of the stuff we go through is tough on a bow. I went out for an hour and a half this afternoon. I saw 7 and got two shots. Ben ran 3 of them. One right by me at 10yds, in an open field but I missed. I shot about 5ft. behind it. I also got a sitting shot at one, but it was like 30yds and he was in a little thicket. I hit something on the way to him. After today I decided I hate aluminum arrows. I had two woodies and two aluminum. I stump shot some on my walk. I never shot at any stumps but some clumps of grass and sticks, after a couple shots thru some brush both aluminum arrows were bent, the woodies held up much better. It was a nice day and there was a ton of sign. We shold do good as long as someone can hit them.  Shawn

I took a very nice ride with Joe Skipp today. We rode up to Shawn's Dad's place to deliver some items for the Bunny Hunt. While we were up there Joe drove around showed me some of the territory they hunted last year. Well I gotta tell you,it sure looks like some pretty thick $hi+ LOL!!! Joe commented that he probly was going to use his bowquiver during the hunt. Now folks I think EVERYONE knows I'm a DieHard BACKQUIVER man, BUT... After seeing some of the tangles we're gonna be huntin', I'm thinking of dusting off my old Selway StickQuiver!!! Anyone have any thoughts or opinions???

Happy Hunting!!!   Chuck

We have bunnies andlots of them. I would go woth a bow quiver. Youare likely to lose arrows with a backquiver.I am working on a list as I type this. I want to Thank Joe and Chuck, Joe donated some real fine arrows, I mean real fine, the type that you would pay a lot for, not just one but 2 dozen in 3 different spines, plus 1/2dz. flu-flus for the aerial shoot, in case some do not hae any with them. I am thinking of having a prize table and put some of the real nice stuff out for a raffle, like at the muzzy shoot. we can donate the raffle money to Thunder or St. Judes. Joe also thru- in a bowhunters hat and a pair of gloves. Chuck bought a bunch of blunts, nocks, and nuts for nutters, and a few bags of rest material. Absolutely awesome. Thanks Guys!!!  I gotta go or my daughter and  will never get this list done. OOOOOOHHHHH  YEAHHHHHH!!! Shawn

OK here is what we got
Shawn-- Soda-chile-6ft. sub
Huntrdfk-- Venison Dish
ADKmountainman-Venison dish
Larry-- Donuts
Tom Lagatol--Bear Dish(?)
Jeremy--Plastic cups and Plastic Plates
SteveMD---Cheesecake
BJK---Bagels and cream cheese
Guru---Have Mom make a dinner dish
Southpaw Shooter---Something not listed
Nanook & Mel-- Case of soda + Chips
That is what I have so far. I would say we could use some more breakfast stuff like bagels or a couple boxes of cereal. I will grab a couple gallons of milk and more canned soda and juice. We are not gonna be eating the whole time, we are gonna be killin' bunnies(I hope!)(LOL!!) From here on out I say bring whatever ya feel like. I have a lot of plastic silverware and I will get the condiments, someone could even bring some hot dogs and rolls, and maybe a few more bags of chips. We will be in good shape. I am starting to get the yard cleaned up and a spot for us to shoot. I am gonna set-up a gazebo like last year and several tables and such. I have 2 bag targets,an aireal target, the balloon shot target(if ya can call it that)and a 3-D deer target. If anyone has another aerial target and another 3-D or bag that would be great, maybe a couple. If we get 30+ guys it will be nice to have enough to shoot at. I will get some hay bales and set up like last year. I am gonna bring us down into another hollow that we did not get to last year, it has lots of bunnies and it is about the thickest nastiest spot we hunt, I went thru it once this year and only did part of it and me and my bud saw 10 bunnies and got 4, and missed 5 more. Curt has been in there, he shot a couple bunnies in there last year. I think we may go thru it one way and than turn around and post watchers and push it back again. If ya are worried about getting bloody, ya better walk the creek. It is getting closer and I hope you guys are excited as I am. I hope to pull it off, we will just wing it like last year!! OOOHHHHH YEAHHHHH!!!!!  Shawn

Shawn,

I'll throw a  U-Stuff-It bag target in the truck to shoot.  I see light at the end of the tunnel.
