Oh what a feeling is right! Thanks all for your nice comments.
Today I'm feeling the effects of getting that bugger out of the woods. It is a walk in only area so I had to use my deer cart to get him out of there. The cart didn't work all that well with the snow on the ground. I bet I used the cart for half of the way, and dragged him on the snow for the other. It was about a 3/4 mile chore but well worth it.

Congrats!! That's a good story, especially given the other guy you saw was also shooting a recurve!

Great story and deer, Doug. It is always so exciting on the ground, you'll treasure this on for a long time. Wind, rain, whatever, the deer are still out there.
