Feeling Froggy?
« on: December 05, 2005, 07:29:00 AM »
The results of a Saturday night outing with Dad. It's kind of strange seeing so many frogs still along the rivers banks in December. Texas, I love you!

Troy... right now I'm hoping it will get UP to 25 tomorrow!

Since Curtis isn't talking about it, I'll relay what he told me on the phone.

Went out after the big gar... boys fixated on shooting one twice as big as he is.

The big gar didn't cooperate so he filled in the gaps with smaller fish and of course about half his weight in frogs.

A look into the future.

There were a few fish.

I even managed to hit a few of the frogs we saw.

Good thing Dad's camera works! CK

Tastes like chicken!

Nice shooting dude...No Bear Montana?

As a young kid I worked at a KFC and snuck in after hours and fried up some frogs in the the Sanders secret recipe. They were good and we didn't get caught.

Frog backed bow in the offing? That is some nice camo patern. Good shooting CK.

We got record lows in the minus numbers here this morning. The deer my cousin hung in the shop yesterday  afternoon is frozen solid, may have to bring in sections to thaw before we can do any cutting.

Mark Twain reported that he asked an Iowa farmer how cold it got and the reply was, "If we'd had another inch on the thermometer, we'd have all froze to death."

Those are some of the frogs that are larger than the bunnies.  I remember them.

Now the gar on the other hand -- we've got some that big in Kentucky.  Come on Curtis, show me a big one!!!
