I love frog legs!  When I was a kid we lived in the country close to Marlow, OK.  My favorite memory of frog hunting...Mr. Sands lived down the road from us and I caught him driving his tractor down the road.  Asked permission to go hunt frogs on his place, he had two prime ponds.  He had told me no before, but I suckered him into letting me and my brother hunt his ponds with just our sling shots (wrist-rockets with about an inch cut off the bands to make them shoot real hard and marbles for ammo).  About two hours later ol man Sands catches us walking home with probably a dozen hawg frawgs each!  Never got to hunt those ponds again.  One of the frogs on that hunt had baby turtle in its mouth about the size of silver dollar.

I've also caught a butt load of'em using plastic worms while fishing.  Toss your worm anywhere within about a foot of em and wiggle it a bit.  They will jump on it every time.  To set the hook you just about have to jerk them into the next county.

Of course, shooting 'em with trad bow gear is the proper and fitting way to hunt them.

Wow Dtala, can you burn me a copy of the "Revenge of the Nerds" lost bowhunting episodes? I've been hitting all flea markets and yard sales looking for an original!!  :bigsmyl:

I couldn't resist, and this thread needed some humor! Forgive me- CKruse

Are you guys sure those are bullfrogs??  They don't look anything like the ones we get up here.......bet they taste just as good though!  Wonder if there are subspecies or if they just have significant regional variation in skin color and pattern.

BTW it was -12 when I got up today and we have been icefishing for a week.......so I guess I can't go get any frogs of my own.....

Gunny sacks full of frogs!.I used long poles back them. I remember them sacks jumping all over the place. Good eats   :D
