Mike,

I own the brown shirt, that is the lighter weight of the 2 shirts. I have been using mine all hunting season. Well not all season but only since it's been cold enough to use it. I have had no troubles at all with it. Last weekend I went on a Winter Bow deer hunting outting with about 18 other Trad Gang members. You can check out the thread and pictures in Pow Wow. You will see me wearing the brown shirt. I was asked many questions about the shirt and recieved no negative comments regarding Ron's shirt. I find it to be a quality garment with a price I feel can't be beat. By the way I placed an order for the heavier gray shirt from Ron this week.
I hope that my comments help you out.

Mike,

I own both the brown and the gray shirts.  I hunt in Soutwest Virginia, we had a few cold days and I used both shirts religiously and I would have to say they were great, I am sure they helped me eliminate a layer or two of clothing.

I own the grey and would like to get the brown for next fall. I was hoping he would have them at Compton,  but he didn't.

I love the grey one warm, and comfy.

I own both.  I hunted with the "brown" one in October, and the "grey" in November.  They are an excellent product, and look just plain COOL!

I also use them during our gun season, and they compliment my cap-lock and BP equipment well.

If you are going for the heavy-weight, I suggest up-sizing to allow layering under it.

I hunt open deciduous woods and I think the grey model is excellent for tree stand hunting once the leaves are down as it is light in the skyline

Get either one, you won't be disappointed.

I have the heavier grey shirt.  It's my favorite hunting garment by far.   Warm, comfortable and no problems shooting.  I may order another a couple sizes larger, put a couple layers underneath and that is all I'll need no matter how cold is gets. Oh, I have the hood also.  Same great quality. ronp

My mom and dad bought me the heavier one for Christmas this year and I really like it.  When she called, Ron tried to talk her out of the XL but I'm pretty glad she bought that one.

Ron, if you're reading - I'm a pretty big guy.  :-D  It is loose (and long in the sleeves) but I'm really digging that.  I can wear stuff underneath it and not feel cramped up.

The seam under the left armpit does have a hole in it already, but I'll have my wife sew that up - no biggie.

The shirt is a winner - glad I have it. :-D

They're excellent.     I have the long-hunter shirt that is very warm & comfortable.  We're also using the wool shirt I have as a pattern to make a lighter weight shirt out of camo for the early bow season when the weather is warm.

Does he have them in hoodies? Can't access his site from work and don't have internet at home anymore.

I've worn Ron's shirts and hoods, and they are excellent!  I hunted an entire day in freezing rain and drizzle, but I kept warm and never felt the moisture through the heavy gray wool.

Also, everytime I've called Ron's shop I've talked to Ron personally.  He provides great customer service.
