Great stories!  The more we hear about this place the better it sounds - sure is stoking the fire for next spring!
Just what does the meat on these things taste like anyway?  What is the best thing to do with them?

Brian,

That is an Amazon Darner (Anax amazili), a fairly rare dragonfly.  There are not many people that get a chance at photographing one of those.  From the looks of the pic, it just emerged!  Pretty cool if you're into science geek stuff, not that I am or anything.

Great deal. I would like to just go and sit to take in the sunset. The hunting would be gravy.

Great tale of the hunt. Really glad to hear about the youth and packing things out theory, being 57 should put me in the shooting instead of the carrying group on at least some hunts. The country there is just amazing to look at and I bet its better in person. Sounds like there are plenty of goats/sheep to keep one on their toes.

Nice going Brian, spending time sharing instead of going off looking for more, good prorities.

I am in a motel in Owatonna, MN doing my work thing. Told them at the office when I checked in today that I had to leave in just over a week to catch a plane to Texas. Out my motel window is the Cabelas store 200 yards away across a big parking lot. Hope I make more than I spend on this assignment.
