I just got back in from taking Rose out tonight (Bingo - her kind of "hunting") and am having a blast reading you good folks comments. I will have to answer some of them in the AM.

The Deer Hair in cone jingles sounds good, Killie - maybe I'll save her tail (I used to save them to tie flies up North) - thanks for reminding me of a "new" reason to save a special one again, now and then.

("from Raleighwood" huh, Mr. Magoo - never heard it called that - LOL)

Bernie, I've not had the honor, yet; of meeting you. Through TG'rs and the Corps though, I think I know about you...I say well done ,sir! Thanks for the story and the example.

Love it!

That is one really nice deer. I don't think I've ever seen a deer with a black tail like that. Is that a whitetail, blacktail or a mix? Is that normal in your area?

There is going to be some good meals in that doe!

Congrats!

LOL - she was 50# so it was an easy drag - even for me. Thank you Billy - glad to take (bring) you (and other former Marines) back to Coastal NC and Camp Lejeune for a few minutes - Semper Fi. All of you folks comments are so kind and so pleasurable to read.

I'm also going to put the story on my current Journal Page on my web site - soon.

Way to go ol' man! Us NC boys are right proud of ya! Taking your deer from the ground with the bow(and no pop up blind) is quite an accomplishmsnt, especially considering how skittish our whitetails are...
