I hope the picture posts...my first time trying.
Well...it has taken seven years and it happened tonight. If you one of those guys like me who has read posts for years and wondered if it will ever happen...hang in there. It was a long wait but well worth it. Having done it I can confirm that the thrill as I had suspected is in the experience of the hunt itself and definitely for me not the kill.
This may be no Wensel rack but I am proud of it
. I am grateful to be one of the lucky humans that have found the pureness and pleasure of the wooden bow. Thank you Lord!
Details....
Fedora 560 Recurve (60# at my draw), Magnus II 125 grain heads with screw in 75 grain adapters, 2016 Legacy Shafts. Ten yard shot through the center of the lungs. Deer ran 15 yards and was stone cold dead in 10 seconds. I watched it die and I couldn't imagine a much more humane death. It was over before the deer had any idea what happened. Broadhead was stuck in a log on the other side of the deer.
I have learned much from all of my brothers and sisters here at the Trad Gang. This deer is a part of each of you.
