Were we supposed to kill a deer? What we experienced was way beyond killing a deer. We will have many more opportunities to do that. To have the experience that I had this past weekend was way beyond killing a deer, for me and mine anyway.   :bigsmyl:        :campfire:    :archer:

As I grow older, it gets easier to do: just blur your eyes to get past their appearance.     These are some of the finest, most caring people you would ever be privileged to meet.

Love the pics, love the stories, guys.
Aram...I love your sheep.     I gotta sew two of mine together to make one of yours!

It would have been nice to kill a deer, but it would have been better to see my son get his first trad kill, so we focused more on squirrels and fun, we didn't get a squirrel but we sure had a lot of fun. All these places that we go are going to build good memories for Joe that will be there long after he has lost count of the number of animals that were taken. Nathan was more like a camp chef that just a plain old cook, those were some of the best viddles I have ever had, even though he wasn't to happy with us for eating all the bacon up and half of the moose before he had a chance to prepare it right   :bigsmyl:

Not only did I have a great time. I ate good. REAL GOOD! I also got the opportunity to shoot a few bows that I never shot before. Here's one that Drew had that seemed to like me. It is a 62"and 65#@28 Saluki longbow. 3 bamboo cores with coco and impala horn overlay on the riser. I asked Drew if I could try it because I had never shot a bow that heavy. Well, I was shocked at how smooth it drew. It was love at first draw! The fastest bow I ever shot by far,But I thought 53# was my limit.Drew was kind enough to make me a deal I couldn't refuse so I took it home. Been shootin it every day. Got some heavy shafts on the way and I'm gonna make me up some new arows. Thanks Drew for giving me a good excuse for making some new arrows.

Nice score Brian, seems you shot that bow like it was one of your own right from the start.  I agree on the super smooth and easy to draw part.  We are pretty well set for the 21st(tues), so be sure to get there!

As for the rest of you crumbs, you sure know how to make a thread take a turn for the worse real quick.  "[dntthnk]"        ;)

Now now fellers , in Nate's defense I does make  purrty turkey talk that could convince even the smartest of birds ;0)I just lays it on real thick like and they runs right to me.

Brian , It was a pleasure to have met you and yours . I'm glad you like the Saluki and are getting use from it. It's a shame for such a fine bow to sit in the rack :0)Best of luck this season . Drew

Kenny, You have outdone yourself again My Brother!!!!!

This just keeps getting bigger and better every year. Rest assured,I will be back every year for as long as the Great Spirit decides to keep me on this Earth. It was great to see everyone again, just like a family reunion LOL.

Brian.....It was great to meet you Ben and E.J. and again,THANK YOU VERY MUCH for the antler handled obsidian knife you made for me.It is Truely BEAUTIFUL,and it was on display in our living room before my gear was unpacked LOL.

What made my heart glad was to see the Father-Son teams!!!!!

Aram and Ru.....I have known you both for a while now and I have watched Ru grow into a man.Watching these two was nothing short of AMAZING!!!!! They move through the woods together like a gentle breeze. The Big Bucks better look out, because if this pair gets on your trail, you're ending up over the campfire.

Jim and Joe,Drew and Adam.....My Brothers,I've watched you two hunting with your sons and it is easy to see that they are following in your footsteps. The boys are coming along very well and you both will have life long hunting companions.

Brian and Ben.....I'm glad to see that the "hook" has been slammed home!!!!! and what could be beter than a "double" catch!!!!! You both have a wonderful and unique situation. You both will follow the trail, learning as you go,working together as one. The Great One will shine upon you both.

Chris.....I just love this kid!!!!! He's like a best friend,a brother, and a son,all rolled into one!!!!! We HAVE to get together more often!!!!! If you need me,call me.....See Ya Soon!!!!!

Nathan.....My friend who shares my love of liquid libation!!!!! AND The Man Can COOK!!!!!!!!!!               We will get together again soon Brother!!!!!

and John.....A true Mountain Hunter is a rare find.Even rarer is finding one who hunts with a bow. We are so alike in our thinking, you'd think that we had known each other for years.I am glad the Great Spirit put us on the same path. I'll see you soon My Brother!!!!!

Ken.....You know how I feel Brother,Talk to ya again soon.....

Did you get a pic of Chuck with just his sweater vest on(and pants, for those with sick minds) I think he is on to something with having the wool next to the skin, now I'm in search of a vest like that, hopefully 100% wool so it don't scratch.   :scared:

Hi Joe. I couldn't wait to get a look at the bow you made for Ken. Nice bow! I didn't get a chance to shoot it. I don't think I saw Ken shoot it either. He was way too busy takin pictures and guiding. Maybe next time, huh, Ken.
I think he could tell I was eyeballing it.The bow looks great on Ken. Goes great with that big knife. I'm assuming that War Dog is that bow. It would be an appropriate name for it.
