Purty country ain't it.

Great looking area Kenny.

Elk hunting for us "lowlanders" is a tough deal.  I think of all the time it takes to scout for deer on a two or three hundred acre place until you get them figured out.  Then we go to elk country and have to cover square miles of territory.  Even with guided operations it isn't a sure bet and the DIY trips are even more difficult.

But they call it hunting, not killing for a reason.

Glad you had a good time.

Chris

Beautiful country Kenny!!! I have hunted SW of Steamboat several times, thanks for rekindling all the good memories!!!
To me, the ultimate challenge in bowhunting is not how far away you can succesfully make a killing shot but rather how close you can get to the animal before shooting.

Looks like a great trip, elk or not, time spent in the woods, and that is worthwhile.  Thanks for sharing.
