Quick Turkey Season
« on: April 21, 2008, 05:29:00 PM »
The MI turkey season opened today. Beautiful morning. Saw 5 gobblers and 10 hens. This Tom came by ten yards out an hour into the hunt and the old faithful BW longbow made a perfect shot. IN season opens wednesday so I will still get some hunting in.

He had a 10 1/4" beard and 3/4" spurs. Broke in my new Arrow Master quiver too.

Nice bird Denny. Maybe you will have to start hunting without a blind or use a blunt and head shoot them - so you can have a longer season. Nothing wrong with your other plan - go to another state and keep hunting. Hope the next hunt ends just as well with only slightly longer wait afield.

Shaun, I up the bar by trying to video them, but I don't pass the shots if I guess the wrong side of the blind. Besides we are way behind at work right now and I could feel the "denny" disease coming on strong. I think I could pull off a no blind in some of the spots I have - I'll have to try it sometime.

Thanks everyone and the best of luck to all of you!

Congrats! I really like the photos.

What part of Indiana will you be hunting? Just curious if you might be hunting anywhere near me (North East part of the state).

Nice bird Denny! With the bow weight you shoot, I am amazed the arrow didn't just bounce off that bird!    Good job-Mike

Hood, Yes, I'll be in the NE part. Looks like the birds are coming on there.

2-BIG, Marie is going to hunt the 2nd season. I hope to be done so I can video her.
