Snow???
Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

Man this is happening fast. Is anything else needed David? Please let me know.
Anyone interested in "warm up work out hunts" just PM me. SAT-MON are good times for me, and I have a lot of bunnies(not like Shawn's but close!).
Killdeer, it is overwhelming at first, but no matter waht group ya choose, its friendly. By the end of the hunt you will be tired, bloody from the rose bushes(and hopefully have a bloody arrow)...hungry enough to eat a whole deer, and thirty enough to make a five gallon bucket look like it isnt enough.....but you will have had a blast, and you will have dozens of new friends. This hunt was my intro to trad last year. It is why I am now a memeber of Trad Gang.......this hunt is just awesome!!!
Oh yeah and just in case Chuck gets the urge to dance it up....practice swimming through the snow...I think Jeremy has a pic of what Im saying.

Hey Jamie! You've got the right idea about "warm up bunny hunt". I'll be up at my place in Cornwallville the weekend of January 19 & 20. Any Trad Gang member, from the area, wishing to get together with us that weekend can PM me for info.
We can hunt the pines for tree rats and grouse. Maybe shoot stumps or 3D.

Well i dont know if i can pull this off but im going to look into it. Last year i had to work and had a free round trip ticket to any where in the US. This year that date is a 4 day weekend for me and again i have a free round trip ticket to any where in the US.

Questions:
1. Where is it
2. Where is the nearest airport
3. What to wear to stay warm (im from sunny Ca and have no experance hunting in that kind of weather)
4. If i cant make it is there a way i can buy raffle tickets to help out or do you have to be there.

I'll add to wtpops questions.

5. Do you all really stay at Shawn's?
6. If not, what hotel?

Geez up to plus 50 posts already! Mo and I are looking foward to another adventure. David will let you know what we're taking.
Wtpops, near Albany Ny. Albany but you might be able to hook up with someone coming from points east, west, south, north. This has never been what you might call a local hunt, a bunch of us drive close to five hours. Staying warm is'nt too big a problem while hunting as we tend to move quite a bit, keeping your clothes in one piece is another, your outerwear must be either disposable or tuff. I would recomend something like Carheart outer coat with room for a sweat shirt underneath, wool shirt, long under wear, bibs are nice or brush pants, insulated boots. Have to be at the hunts to be in the raffel I think?

Wtops and VTer,

I'll try to answer your questions....

1-Selkirk, NY
2-Not positive on the airport, but I would think Albany/Schenectady
3-It is usually pretty cold, I have found it best to wear long underwear and then layer from there, you are moving a lot so you stay pretty warm, unless it is windy and you are a stander....brush pants are a big help to fight the thorns.  Everyone has to wear some type of orange, whether it be a hat or vest for safety reasons.
4-We don't sell raffle tickets unless you are present
5- Nope, but most do.....
6-I'm not sure of the hotels, but I know there are several nearby, Joe Skipp will know

Hope that helps..........

Vter most stay at Shawns Fathers place but a bunch stay at a nearby Quality Inn.  Maybe Joe can arrange another group discount, that is if they let the people in Pink back in.

Well isn't this a nice birthday present,  an invite to the best hunt in the east.

Shawn,  I'll be there again.  I've been looking forward to it since last year.

David,  I'll bring a main dish and a couple of deserts.

The closest airport (except for the one we'll be hunting on) is Albany NY.  If anyone ends up flying in,  post here and we can try and arrange rides to the hunt.  A few of us are local.

For the raffle, I have one doz Chundoo arrows, spined 40-45# for the youth bowhunters. Plus a few other goodies. Remember, the Pink Bra will be raffled off this year....the winner gets to keep it then return it the following year.

The Pink panties...Southpawshooter said Ciccone was wearing them the weekend we bowhunted at his camp...wouldn't take them or the pink hat off...Something about sharing them with Woodie...

Anyway.....we will be there unless an emergency comes up....Bring your pink arrows and feathers fellas....Pic below....
