Hello Tradgangers,Just thought I would share a couple of pictures of the Buck I shot Saturday November 24.He has 5 points on the right antler and 8 on the left.Sorry the pictures don't show the left antler very well, but a snow storm was heading in and I was in abit of a rush to get him out.
The hunting this year was tough to say the least. With Deer populations way down in our area due to a heavy snowfall last year and high populations of coyotes.I spent more time in the stand this year than the last two combined.I shot this one from a stand over a well used trail going to a food source.
There was a conciderable amount of rut activity along this route. This also was a second chance buck.Because a week prior I had a shot at the same deer and shot just over his back.I hit him as he past by my stand,it was a good quartering away shot.He ran less than fifty yards before going down. The bow I used was a homemade 3pc. takedown longbow,62"ntn. pulling 58lb.@ 28".The arrows were cedar and the broadhead was a stos 160gr.Well I've got to go,so I hope you enjoy the pic's and so long for now,Dell.
