Doe meets Treeshark
« on: November 15, 2007, 09:45:00 PM »
Shot this doe at 5:15 this evening, watched her for a hr. before she came in to 20 yds. slightly quarting to me, centered 1 lung and clipped backed of the other, arrow exited through diaphram clipping front of stomach and taking a 3 in. chunk of fat out the exit hole. She sprayed blood like a firehose at the point of impact and made it 60 yds and died in the deepest ravine around..The entrance wound is a good 3.5 in. wide these heads are awesome.. Equipment used was my 47# Super Diablo GT 55/75 W/300 GR. up front for total weight of 635 gr., shot was 18-20 yds.She field dressed 120# on the nose.

Those "flying meat cleavers" definitely did a number on that doe! Looks like your field dressing was half done already. lol

Nice healthy looking doe.   I can not believe you seen deer during the wind storm. I hunted same day is Shelby County IN and the winds were terrible.   Congrats.

Jim, winds were a steady 15 mph gusting to 31 mph, hunted in the last windstorm we had and saw a 140 class buck and probably this same doe in the same place at about the same time. Whats wierd is she was totally by herself, no buck around anywhere and she was around me for a full hr.I like hunting when its windy, can get by with alot more movement then normal..

Congrats ILBS

I hunted in those winds last night too. Saw 3 does but man were they spooked. Two stood in one place for over 30 mins just staring without moving anything but their heads and necks. Then they took off running/flagging for no apparent reason.
