Two weekends ago a group of us went to the East slope of the Santa Cruz Mountains to hunt some sheep and goats at the Jim Cox Ranch about two hours south of San Francisco. The ranch is 10-12 miles from the coast and gets Pacific breezes coming in year around. Cool in summer; freezing in winter ir the rule.
This is the view if you are a goat or sheep:
Our friend Tony shot this beautiful Barbados Goat on the first day. Behind him you can see the terrain; lots of cliffs and draws-ideal if you are four legged and in shape!
The ranch is 550 acres of nothing but vertical ground!
Here is Robert with a 234 lb Mouflon; this animal took hunter and hunted down a wild ride in to a canyon. Robert emptied his quiver-all good shots-and the Ram was still kicking.
We lookes at the blood trail later and most of it was likely from the hunters knees and elbows!
Yours truly with a dandy exotic shot while ground hunting on the second day:

There's some more to come but
I gotta go make some money now so we will have to catch up later.
