This young guy, Colin is my son's best friend. Last year everyone chipped in and got him a bow, quiver, arrows and a treestand. Him and my son practice constantly and chase groundhogs all summer. Here's a quick story of how this all unfolded.
Colin's dad dropped him off by himself at a neighbors farm. He met up with another older gentleman who had a crossbow. The guy kind of chuckled when he saw Colin's bow. The guy took Colin back into an area and said to set up down the trail another 150 yards. Colin found a trail, stepped off 15 yards from the trail and found a tree. An hour later he put a fantastic shot on this doe. She only went 5 yards and fell over.
He got down and went back to the older gentleman who asked him what he was doing. He said he shot a deer and need some help. The guy was first class and shook Colin's hand over and over, smiling and congratulated him all the way back to the car. The guy even carried out his deer for him.
Congrats to Colin and Thanks!!! to a first class hunter who helped a young guy out with his "First Deer on Opening Day"!
