I didn't expect to be hunting already with a longbow this year when I picked one up at the Wheeling, WV show in February... but these things are so addictive I put in more than enough practice since then.
This morning everything fell into place and I dropped a suburban doe with it on opening antlerless in PA. Nearly a complete pass-through out of a 43lb Cari-bow... would have been cleanly if not for the off shoulder on the exit.
The gentle thump from a longbow... seems such a quiet and gracious way to harvest. I shudder to think of picking up the compound. No hunting success has been sweeter. Truly magical.
