Bear recurve, circa 1959.

Interesting how so many of these posts list an old Bear bow. Fred really worked his magic. No wonder so many of us looked up to him.
Is it too late to be what I could have been?

My first bow as a kid (in the '60's) was a Browning Mosquito.  My first 'born again' traditional bow, bought in 1999, is an old, used Browning Wasp, which still shoots great and I will always keep for sentimental reasons.

Pronghorn longbow 59lb at 28". Black glass limbs, "she's a real beaut". shortly after, i then ordered a Great Plains Swift and found an old pronghorn ferret that feels like butter. my traditional supplier here in denver told me I will have more than one bow and I laughed at him   5 months into the sport and 4 bows later im still laughing and having a ball   going after quebec caribou in August. any pointers folks?

Just got my first trophy with it yesterday! I'm still lovin that.(21st shot/powwow) Will replace the plate and rug soon, and I'm stickin with this bow for a good long while...or until the fever gits too high, anyway!!
