Tiring of the routine of Sleep; Eat; Visit and Nap. I decided to air out my lungs.

Faced with this

I thought it better to trundle down the river road. Bow in hand and a FULL quiver of arras off I charged in quest of the Pig and Javie population. Not even out of sight of camp, running down the road at me were these White Woolly Fellows. Undaunted by my presence they just kept coming, thought I this won't be difficult at all, so I slip off the road and into the brush, easy ambush. Right, 15 min. later they had not covered the 100 yards from where I had last seen them, I could still hear them, so I slips out of the bush only to discover them heading back the way they had just come at a very leisurely pace. Shouldn't be hard to slip around them and set up again so off I go in hot pursuit, this game with them would go on for a couple of hrs. Finally running out of cover, I had closed the gap to within 50-75 yards and had the road between us.

I could see horns on one so like any good hunter they were the magnet that drew me to make a move. I just started movin on them, as they fed I moved and did quite well, closed the gap to within my Bow range.

Then it happened one of the little WWFs needed a snack and the one with horns had the faucet.
Now I just didn't need to let the string slip on such a scene, I simply was content with a GREAT BIG BOO. Needless to say the scene changed rather quickly.

The next day Lam"O" and I  had a plan to seek out the elusive PIG and Javie population that we just knew had to be in the area. Things started to come together around 8:00 am and finally got to rollin at about. Again we found our selves on the now very familiar river road. Easing our way down the road glassing things as we probed the brush, there were some quarry half way up the Mountain

I have a notion that this here site is a bit away from Mr. Walkers thoughts right now Jeff. Dave since you ask  :bigsmyl:

Charlie and I found our selves in a real piggy lookin draw, every so often catching the aroma of what we hoped were Javie.
Knowing how charlies knees were feeling I opted to let him set the pace and was content in bringing up the rear.

To me it's always a treat to be afield with an old friend, this was to be no exception. As we moved with purpose up the draw I started to reflect how many times Charlie and I had been in the same situation, different game and in some far away place. You seem to be some how connected with your hunting partner, seeing what they see, hearing what they hear, smelling what they smell. Those type of hunting partners seem to be limited to one in a life time. Oddly I found myself experiencing that same connection with a fellow member I had only met days before, that's another chapter.
As we started to climb out of the draw, I looked ahead at Charlie, he was looking back and past him I saw what he was after. He nodded and I nodded back, never at any time uttering a sound we both knew what was to be done.

Again I allowed Charlie to set the pace and course, knowing after many trails together that he would put us where we needed to be.
Slowly and cautiously he was finding footing that favored his knees on our steady climb.
He would stop often to put his Leicas to work

At one point we came to a no cover area and as though we had rehearsed it he moved as I watched then we reversed roles until we had gained cover unseen. This seemed to be working as planned.

You still want more? you aren't Sweated out are ya ?

We do want more and I'm sure when Mr. Walker gets done he'll be in to tell his tales.

Vance, if you can, please keep telling these stories for at least another 345 days or so. We never get tired of them!  Then we can meet down there to make some more!

Vance,
Some times those sore knees make for a real slow stealth approach...at least that's what I keep telling myself  :)   Keep it coming...Doc

Jeff, Bob's wife ships back out to the Persian Gulf shortly.

Vance, the day Ted and I hunted down by the river we had numerous turns of the wind that smelled like javie. Sometimes so strong you just knew they were within range. Never saw a one though.

Joe... I experienced the same thing. They just had to be there, but danged if I could find them!
Like you said, I'm sure we'll hear from brother Bob when he gets done with the important stuff. (can't imagine what it must be like to send your wife off like that.)

Vance and I angled up the hill and out around the feeding goats. We gave them plenty of lead time to allow for my gimped up travel mode and made it to good cover in the nick of time.

Soon we were surronded by the WWF's... can you spot the WWF in this picture?

Not sure what we could or couldn't get away with we both tried drawing on the unsuspecting critters... got away with it too!!

Actually this goat made it behind the entervening brush before Vance knew he was there. He'd been watching a small billy out in front of him and was distracted just a little too long.
