Sheepeater and Tom
« on: April 01, 2007, 11:33:00 PM »
Today was opening day for turkeys in Kansas. I didn't get out till late in the afternoon. I strung my Sheepeater, grabbed a couple of rivercane arrows tipped with Magnus II heads and headed to the woods. Around 7:10 pm a couple of longbeards came by and only one left intact. The other made it about 30 yards with an inch and a half hole on each side. My Sheepeater has bacote on the back, osage for riser, osage underlays, and sheep horn over osage for overlays. Boys, it's meat and potatoes!  What a terrific performer. Talk about lots of room in a turkey blind!! Unbelievable. The bird weighed 24 pounds and 14 oz, had a 10 1/2 inch beard and spurs just over an inch and a quarter. It was the beginning of a great year for me and my Sheepeater. Thanks so much Brent and Mark!!      [/IMG]

Man. Wish we had a turkey season in the county I live in. I don't think we have turkeys anyways. Nice bird and pretty bow!

Way to go, Ralph...you are a man of your word!  Nice Tom...we got another week before turkeys open here, and I can almost guarantee I won't have the luck you did, my friend.   Congrats on a fine bird.  :clapper:

Great job Ralph!  Amazing little bow, doesn't look like it is much longer than the bird!

Congrats again.

I swear Ralph. It cant be that simple. I thought you was just a good guy..........a turkey god?! I had no idea. Great job there bud. A lot of us are wondering if you are going to start a new necklace or add another row to it.

Mike, as a matter of fact, yes you can shoot off either side of the bow with this handle. It is cut in the same on both sides.

I was having a technological brain fart after killing the bird. Couldn't get my timer to work or pics transferred. I'm going back out in the morning and I'll try to do better with the pics.    [/IMG]

Hey Ralph...maybe ya need a new nickname..hmm..Guru is taken..someone mentioned turkey god...that may be a bit over the top but how about "Really really good Kansas turkey hunter"..... too long?

Personally I love the pics, especially that last oneon page one. All the colors in the birds feathers are outstanding.
