OK, how's this...?
Nighthawk - would you check the boy scout cabin?
b.glass - will you check Mississinewa cabin?
Steve - will you check on the cabins close to you?

Could someone chime in on winter camping in a "summer" tent. I'm thinking a ground pad and a fire pit are good must haves.

chessie - you are looking at roughly 450 to 500 miles one way supposing you came acrossed the pike/I70 to I71 and US50 into southern Indiana and about the same if we go with a northern destination.

.... it will fun, rabbit stew or not ...

Winter camping = the same as summer camping only colder.  May I recommend a sleeping bag and an air mattress.  Here's a nice way to do it   I really like the tarp and a good bag.  A mylar blanket helps if it gets sub 20 degrees.
Take a kid hunting!

Mike, when we figure out where we will certain let you know.

Terre Haute is central but extreme west if I remember correctly. Scott Co. has been suggested. That is not as far south as you can go and not as far east as you can go. So maybe 2-2 1/2 hrs. from you? It is about a 4 hr. drive for me. If I would take I-69 it would be a bit quicker.
Well you can pretty much count me in. I should be back up in IL. with in the week and should be there at least until Feb. and I can get off work pretty much when ever I want.

I still have an IL. doe tag too fill also.

I figure it will be Mon. before I can find out anything. But I will let you know. I do know that they are at Francis Slocum State Park and that they can sleep up to 6. Outhouse toilets, no running water but they do have electricity.
And there are 8 or ten of them. Nice shower facilities in the campground IF they are open.
I doubt it that time of year.

Someone should check on the farmland conservation club. First rate facilities and several large fields that they run bird dogs in. I will check on the boyscout cabin at atterbury. I'll do it tomorrow (monday)

I will contact the guy that set up the last couple of shoots that they had at Farmland. I really expect it to be ok if there aren't other activities on the same dates.

We are up to about 2 doz. bowhunters now! This is great, I can hardly wait!

With the date set; I'm good!
I will probably not be online for a couple days. You folks pick the spot and let's fling some bu...arras   ;)
Doesn't matter to me tents or cabins, north or south. If, I hafta cast a vote... a good campground.
