ARA RANT
« on: November 08, 2006, 03:18:00 PM »
The below post was in response to my posting on this ARA forum that I felt that there was no difference between a wolf killing a deer and a hunter killing a deer, if they did in fact believe that a wolf is no less the equal of a human.

To which someone replied that a hunter had a choice, he did not HAVE to kill, the wolf did.

To which I replied "what about someone who does not want to eat vegan, and also doesn't want to eat meat tainted by chemicals and antibiotics?"

That got a rant about "there's a difference between hunters and US (meaning ARA's) they MURDER and WE DON'T.

To which I replied "are you kidding me? Do you drive a car? Do you live in a house? What about when you city builds a concert hall, or dumps treated sewage in the Mediterranean? Or a tractor drives over the field your precious veggies are grown in? Your smugness and disdain for the rest of humanity makes you someone whose opinion cannot be taken seriously by anyone with a brain".

Which elicted a response full of cursing and name calling.

Then came this from "GOD"- the voice from on high- the Rob DiStefano of the Animal Rights site world-because someone came to my defense named Heather Shirley.

I'll be honest here,

I think Heather Shirley could have been handled better by the more experienced posters here. she hasnt appeared to be a troll, just an annoying "animal welfare" campaigner with at least an intent to do a limmited amount of good, if what she says is true.

My advice heather shirley, if you ever do find another proper animal rights forum, is that you stick to discussing the stage you are at, debating the need to encourage non-use of animals instead of slightly kinder use of them. after that debate it is time for you to either mend your ways or leave animal rights and seek out animal welfare.

one thing always rings true when non-AR people come here to debate. if you have not yet reached the stage yourself of not harming, and especially not killing animals, then your view on any other subject is 100% irrelevant. of course someone who still kills a few animals every month believes that congratulating people for small efforts whilst they remain mudering animals is the right course of action. it just goes without saying. similarly, whilst you still find it in your heart to kill animals you have no place to debate the rights and wrongs of locking them up, training, chaining or riding them.

when we still had a bit more patience with you we pointed out that you just thought that congratulating people for eating organic was part of legitamising and pandering to your own crimes against animals.
this thought has never rung more true than it does now, as you take the side of hateful, animal abusing trolls against genuine animal rights activists because those abusers are on your side right now. they come here to cause trouble and divisions and if you werent already working with them then you have probably fooled them into thinking they turned you, since they dont know you werent welcome here anyway.

its quite sad that you have just described your true step forward being when you gave up pure cruelty free veganism and switched to a 'low murder' diet.

clearly your relationship with the activists here is beyond repair. it is time for you to leave this forum.

Which just about sums it up- you cannot stop people from being stupid, can you? If someone wants to believe that because they don't eat anything but plants they can call eveyrone that doesn't a MURDERER then - there's nothing you can do but suffer the fools!!!!!  All that energy wasted on this drivvle...just think if he had applied himself in school he might have discovered the cure for cancer so he could save elephants and camels and warthogs from the dreaded disease. To hell with people...they're MURDERERS!

Wow, talk about elitist - I don't think these self-important, ignorant (and obviously horribly insecure) people pose any real threat at all - they are awefully quick to chastise and 'eradicate' your supporter just because she isn't as extreme as they are...
They sound like a bunch of insecure people trying really hard to convince themselves that they are important (while being completely unable to defend or even define their own beliefs)

Your interaction with them is entertaining - and somewhat enlightening - - - -
and I was about to say a waste of your time, but now that I think about it - you got them to alienate one of their own supporters, so their numbers have just dropped by one.
Keep up the good work!!!!

I feel your frustration Ray.

My only consolation while dealing with such extremists is the hope that even fence sitters will see them as extremists and shy away.

See the good these idiots do?

Activists Ransack New Jersey Game Farm

Animal extremists vandalized a New Jersey quail farm and sealed the fate of thousands of pen-raised birds who were forced into the night without food, water or shelter.

Members of the Animal Liberation Front, labeled by the FBI as a domestic terror group and one of the most active extremist elements in the country, issued an Internet message announcing its involvement in damaging Griggstown Quail Farm on Dec. 18. The message explained how activists clipped through the fence, cut the canopy covering three pens and flushed about 250 quail, pheasants and partridges.

The activists’ actions resulted in the death of all of the “freed” domesticated fowl. The birds scrambled out of their cages directly into the path of oncoming traffic on a nearby highway. Those that escaped “death-by-Michelin” slowly froze to death.

FBI spokesman Steven Siegel said, “It’s like liberating fish from an aquarium by throwing them on the floor.”

It is estimated that the vandals actually released 2,500 birds, 10 times the number they claimed. The farm estimates loss and damages at about $80,000.

Yeah,
A few years ago,ALF members, tried to free the mustangs from the Litchfield facility of the BLM.They cut the fences, and ran the horses out.The horses, made a big circle, right back into the pens. They knew where the grub, and good water was,in the middle of winter. One Stud horse, was liberated,by chaseing him away, and he was later liberated from his life,by a Mac truck, trying to cross the highway,to return. They later returned, and torched the hay stacks, and office at the facility. Now,i repeat, this was in winter, and this was the horses food supply. The leaders of this action, were caught a few months ago,on a different case, and confessed to the litchfield incident.Something tells me,that the animals welfare, isnt always the first priority in many of their actions.Either that,or their just complete MORONS.

Do yourselves a favor and purchase a copy of an episode from Penn and Teller's series on Showtime called Bull$#!%.

It reveals the real people behind PETA, Ingrid Newkirk and her bunch of loons.  They have a twisted view of the world.  It also documents some extremely radical ARA's.

What really bothered me though happened seceral years ago, when Mr. Clinton was President.  We all know about the excise taxes collected through the Pittman-Robertson.  Well, those monies are to be distributed to State Game Departments.

$40 million of those monies went to PETA, HSUS, and other so-called animal rights terrosist groups.  The head of USF&W had approved of this and when questioned about this backstabbing act, there was no official explanation.  OUR monies were used against US!!!!!!!

That's why yas gotta be involved and in the know.

I thought you guys might get a real kick out of hearing this - If we could just get ABC, NBC, and CBS to run with THIS story.

PETA “A Bunch Of Losers,” “Frauds”

As many as 340,000 cows and steers have been left stranded by southeastern Colorado's most recent snowstorm, and National Guard units are helping ranchers in a frantic bid to save the freezing animals. Faced with 15-foot snowdrifts, rescuers are airlifting bales of hay and hoping for the best. But as Coloradans are learning, the wealthy People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) isn't about to lift a finger. Not for those animals -- the ones destined to be flame-broiled, grilled, or roasted.

Appearing on Denver radio station KRFX yesterday morning, Colorado Governor Bill Owens spoke for all of us. PETA, he declared, are "a bunch of losers"  and "frauds"

The dustup started when KRFX morning hosts Rick Lewis and Michael Floorwax (yes, that's his real name) called PETA to ask if the group would help feed and rescue the snowbound herds. PETA spokeswoman Reannon Peterson took the call, and bluntly replied: "You're going to save them, and then in six months they're going to be killed and end up on someone's plate. So I don't know !
that it's really the most noble cause." Peterson added that wild animals caught in the blizzard's wake -- the same animals PETA routinely criticizes hunters for bagging -- also weren't worth spending PETA's money to save. "It's an act of God," she said. "There's really nothing to be done"

Enter Governor Owens. In addition to labeling PETA "losers" and "frauds," he expressed amazement that "PETA doesn't want us to feed freezing cattle" [click to listen] and stated that "it's symbolic of what PETA stands for" [click to listen]. Finally, Owens declared that PETA is "a strange group of people.
Don't send money to PETA".

Asked a few hours later by KRFX sister-station KOA-AM to reiterate his position on PETA, he put it plainly:
"What a bunch of losers. Don't give your money to PETA."We couldn't agree more. As we're telling the media today, the Colorado!
snowstorm is exactly the kind of emergency that should send PETA into action. But PETA -- whose president publicly wished for a foot-and-mouth epidemic in 2001 -- has a stubborn anti-meat bias. To this group of tofu-devouring loonies, seeing the livelihood of cattle ranchers evaporate is a cheap thrill.

This may also be the reason why the vegetarian-oriented Humane Society of the United States isn't spending any of the $145 million it raised last year on Colorado helicopter rentals and hay bales.

Governor Owens'entire interview is also available, as well as the PETA phone call can be heard in their entirety by going to
