two small nails driven through the sides of the .38 case make something akin to a judo point.
THE VOICES HAVEN'T BOTHERED ME SINCE I STARTED POKING THEM WITH A Q-TIP.

instead of a metal washer, try a faucet washer....
they dont effect the weight of the head, plus they "give" enough so that if you hit something with them, it doesn't destroy them..(at least not for a while)
I shoot mine like judo heads all the time, and they do a number on small game
I also grind the sharp points of my field tips down flat, then put em in a drill press, making a hollow point field tip, knocks down on the penetration factor if you hit a stump or tree
You can buy a whole pack of rubber faucet washers for about three bucks at the hardware store.

Thought I would share some of my bunny killers.  Start with a field point and file off 13-14 grains from the point.  After it's close to weight I like to cut a cross pattern for better gripping action.  Less glancing blows this way.  Then add a regular washer.  These fit the points shank perfectly, weigh 15 grains, and impede penetration.  When you are done you will have an awesome small game head that will penetrate brush well and hit hard!

That last photo wasn't the greatest.  The washer fits perfectly and is not lop-sided as it appears.  Cheap, easy to make, and effective!

HERE'S SOME BUNNYBUSTERS i JUST MADE UP TONITE FOR MY TREK TOMORROW.

I SAW THE IDEA OF FAUCET WASHERS ON THIS THREAD i THINK, BUT FOUND THESE DENSE RUBBER BEVELLED WASHERS IN THE SAME SECTION OF HARDWARE. I LIKE 'EM! I had to drill out the center hole a bit to allow the fieldtip to seat down in the washer. I tried to leave a bit on the end so when tightened down the base of the tip would trap the washer to the shaft. I'm guessing the washer weighs about 50 grains behind 125 gr tips. Should be a good thumper and maybe stop me loosing shafts under the snow (I hope).  Got 4 for $1.50....

knock out the primer of a 38 casing.   glue the casing onto a wooden arrow.  Then take a nail and drive it into the arrow through the primer hole.   cut the nail head off at an angle.   works pretty good and easy to do.

I also picked up a couple of tee nuts yesterday. Yes they DO look lethal! Like a heavy duty JUDO point huh?

I need to work them abit to make 'em fit my shafts tho.
Will post pics when available.

Just a note on the tee nuts...I've tried 'em, and wasn't overly impressed with there killbility. Did kill one squirrel with one pretty quick, but not enough of the results were like that for me to stick with 'em. Guess there bark is just worse than there bite...

I use regular nuts screwed on the end of tapered wood arrows. They work well I've killed 2 rabbits and a squirrel with great killbility    :D

Thank you every one for the great ideas

On rabbits I can say you do not want anything that impededs penetration. A regular blunt, hex heads and broadheads(do not use if dogs or lots of people are hunting). Our big NY bunnies are not easy to kill, head shots are about the only thing that does not require follow ups ot he run and jump on or stomp on trick. I shoot a lot of bunnies with every head out there and over the years my best killer has been an old fashioned blunt. Shawn

I don't want a pass through on a rabbit.  If the arrow is still in them, they can't get away very far through the briars.
